The Columns

In May 2006, I was invited to write a weekly column as a gay man living in Delhi for the newspaper, Today.

It lasted for six issues beofre it was axed. I was determined to push the boundaries of what was permissible in print. Especially the acceptability of the celebration of a gay identity and gay sexuality.

Clearly that's not possible as yet. Several people have encouraged me to continue the weekly observations on the web. So I have decided for the moment to place them here.

I'm maintaing the format of 300 words and a picture.

I'd like to thank Ravi Shankar, Editor of Today for giving me the opportunity to write. It wasn't his decision to end publication of the column.
